A Willing Participant recently picked up a 'Distinction' Award at the 2018 Videographer Awards for its "Failure Disrupted" mini-documentary.

The mini-doc—which is fully entitled "Failure Disrupted: 25 Years of Closing the Achievement Gap"—was produced on behalf of our client Accelerate Institute. The documentary highlights the Chicago-based nonprofit's efforts to close the education gap in urban schools.

The Videographer Award is the latest of several that AWP has recently received for "Failure Disrupted." The documentary was also recognized in the following award competitions, among others:

  • 2018 Hermes Creative Awards

  • 2018 Telly Award

  • 2018 AVA Digital Awards

The Videographer Awards describes the "Distinction" honor as being "awarded for projects that exceed industry standards." The organization said approximately 14 percent of entries received the award this year. The "Excellence" award is the only higher honor from the Videographer Awards.

In total, approximately 1,500 entries from the United States and 13 other countries were judged in this year's competition. Videographer Awards judges have reviewed more than 200,000 entries since the competition was established in 1994.
